Steve Gib asked:

I would like to show you some women’s self defense moves that you can use to protect and defend yourself against a male attacker. I will give you valid tips and advice if you ever encounter a mugger, rapist, or murderer. I have two distinct techniques I would like to talk about, mainly being the eye gouges and groin strikes, kicks, and pulls.

Even though these women’s self defense moves work, you have to remember that you have to follow through with other techniques and moves to further damage and injure your attacker. One move I recommend is ripping your fingernails into your attackers eye sockets and rip them apart. You can collect DNA under your finger nails and hurt him good. You don’t have to have super long nails, but as long as they are over 2mm you will be good.

You want to have a list of women’s self defense moves memorized and big key component on male attackers is the groin attacks and strikes. If you can kick him in his ******** all the more power to you. You can also follow through with biting, pulling, punching, ripping, etc. This move can be used in a variety of different ways so don’t forget to follow through and cause as much damage as possible.

Another women’s self defense move I recommend is smashing the adams apple and throat of your male attacker. Since women are genetically smaller then males you need as many techniques as possible to injure your attacker. Hitting him in the throat can interrupt his breathing. Oxygen is essential to fighting so if you can cut his supply off you will have better chances of escape.

Remember that you always want to follow through with your initial attack, followed by more including punches, kicks, elbows, head butts, knees, whatever you need to do to cause as much damage as possible so you can escape a heck of a lot easier. Using the groin attacks techniques, the throat smash and eye gouge will give you an advantage in any physical encounter! I hope you enjoyed these womens self defense moves!

Pete Kauffer asked:

Many times in a self-defense situation an attack is from the rear. Martial arts practitioners are taught how to defend themselves if placed in a rear choke. One type of choke an assailant can use involves their hands only. In this article we will show how to defend if grabbed by the neck with the hands.

An attack from behind can occur at anytime. It is very easy if someone is not looking in the direction of the assault. A choke can take many forms and render a person unconscious rather quickly if the air is cut off. If a victim is attacked from the rear by only the hands of the attacker, either on the shoulders or on the neck, an escape can be rather simple.

The victim should step forward with one foot and turn the shoulder of the less dominant arm into the attacker. Raise the less dominant arm to block the attackers arm and push it out of the way. This should release the attackers hands from the neck and place the defender in a position to use a martial arts technique for a counter attack.

Blocking with the less dominant arm leaves the dominant, more powerful arm available for defense. Using any of a number of martial arts techniques with full force can render the aggressor defenseless. It can also provide an escape opportunity. A punch to the nose or throat or driving a finger, or fingers, into the eyes will cause quite a bit of pain. A kick to the shins, knees or groin can put them on the ground creating an opening to get away.

self defense

Fred P Nichols asked:

How do you avoid being a victim?

In today’s troubled times with economic woes, rise in drug use, and upsurge in violence and crime in general, the chance of being attacked or assaulted increase. More and more people are thinking about defending themselves. Gun sales are up tremendously. Interest in personal self-defense is on the rise. If you are one of these people interested in learning self-defense consider this.

Some martial arts systems have lost knowledge of basic self-defense tactics and techniques. Finding a school that teaches self-defense tactics is hard since most schools train for show and sport. Most martial arts schools have gotten away from the rigorous traditional training methods and replaced it with easy physical exercise type martial arts. The techniques taught in these schools lack in power and strength. This is why so many martial artist choke when attacked on the street. Overcome this by learning combat self-defense from an instructor teaching solid tactics and techniques, a form of street fighting martial art.

So, many people run around like zombies with no ambitions or direction. You can see it in their eyes. This is a display of weakness. Their head bent down looking at the ground impervious to the environment and people around them. Criminals prey on these types of people. It’s a known fact. They know what to look for. They look for weakness!

These people can change their outlook on life immediately preventing them from becoming victims. Tactics to avoid becoming a Victim:

1. Know and be aware of your environment
2. Keep the head and eyes up. If some scrupulous person looks at you, don’t just abruptly look away. Smoothly with the head up scan the room slowly keeping the eyes up. This appears as a non-threatening action but shows confidence.
3. Show confidence at all times. Stand up straight with shoulders pulled back in a comfortable position. Talk with authority when talking.
4. Know when to hold your ground and when to retreat.
5. Learn to read threatening body movements
6. Don’t clinch your fists when confronted.
7. If verbal invectives come into play, raise your hands to about shoulder height with the fingers pointing up. This has a tendency to let the person know you are aware of the situation in a non-threatening way. If something does happen the hands are ready to react.

Lifestyle self-defense tactics:

Stay away from bad areas. Every town or city has them. Avoid them as much as possible drive around them if possible.

Know the neighbors. A lot of time is spent in the neighborhood. Know the neighbors and their demeanor.

Lock car doors: Whether the car is parked or driving keep the doors locked. Don’t roll down the window for just anybody especially at a stop sign or stop light.

Lock house doors: The same is true with the home. Keep the house doors and windows locked when not around or preoccupied in another area of the house.

Public places are usually safe. It’s when walking from the public place to maybe the parking garage where problems arise. Stay in well-lit places.

Self defense techniques that involve striking another individual should only be used as the last resort. Just remember the entire body can become a weapon. The techniques available are hand strikes, elbow strikes, kicking techniques, and striking with the knee.

This is by no means a complete list of self-defense tactics. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Do not develop a state of paranoia thinking about all this. These tactics are tools to help in the prevention of violence and crime.

self defense

Jo Braweski asked:

In many descriptions of self defense pressure points, it is only the physical aspects that are discussed. It’s true that in an emergency self defense situation, it may be vitally useful to know where to inflict a maximum of pain on your attacker, but there is another dimension that may even prevent an attack from continuing.

The clue is in the classification of pressure points concerning the human being. There are the pressure points where striking or squeezing will cause intense pain. They are typically areas like the shins, the groin for men, eyes, ears and nose. There are also the pressure points where striking or squeezing does not so much cause pain as an involuntary reaction. The knee jerk reaction illustrates the principle behind this, although in a self defense situation, you would want to use something more applicable, such as the gagging reaction through pressure at the base of the throat.

It’s this second category that is worth exploring, not only in the physical aspects but also the psychological ones. We are looking for psychological self defense pressure points where the pressure will cause the reaction that we want in order to prevent an attack from continuing, or better still from happening at all.

The first pressure point in this sense is the attacker’s own sense of vulnerability. In general, an attacker goes for other smaller, weaker people. Although this is not always the case (drug addicts may have no sense of reality at the time that they mug someone), an attacker is looking for easy prey, someone who will not give them any trouble.

Your assertiveness here will considerably lessen the chances of an attack. Just to be clear, assertiveness is communicated by standing up straight and holding eye contact with the person who has accosted you. Note that it is not aggression on your part, as there is no point in triggering an attack, but neither is it submissiveness, which in this case would send the same message. Listen carefully to what the person is saying in order to respond appropriately.

A second pressure point in psychological self defense if you are dealing with a gang of people is the leader’s personal pride. Whereas on their own that person might have risked possible defeat if your assertiveness had not dissuaded them from continuing the aggression, in front of the gang other factors come into play. The leader often cannot afford any sort of defeat in the eyes of gang members. Defeat means risking or losing leader status.

Additionally, the leader is the one who commands, by definition and anyone in the gang trying to take over is typically “dealt with”. So if you are confronted by a gang, identify the leader and use your assertiveness where possible, so that if other members of the gang are demanding an attack, the leader has a double pressure to back off and take their gang with them.

Like any self defense pressure points, either physical or psychological, there is no miracle cure. Depending on the situation, some will work where others may not. However, if you know what’s available to you then you can use them accordingly and boost your chances of staying safe and sound.

Imran Al asked:

Self defense comes into play where the attacker and the victim come in confrontation. In the act of defending oneself a victim may use self defense. No matter how much efficient a person is in using methods or forms of self defense, there is a 100% risk of getting hurt in a physical fight that avoids such attacks. However, a victim may employ some tools like pepper spray, impact device, sonic alarms, dogs etc to increase the chance of success over opponents.

A smart person should never initiate or escalate situation. They should avoid the offender, no matter how much pride is bruised, however the self defense should come into play only if the offender tries to assault physically. This is the case where the appropriate methods of self defense should be implied or tools to self defense should be used.

A person should try to de-escalate the situation enforced by the offender. If regular attempts fail then the victim should be aware of the fact that they are innocent and steps taken to avoid the circumstances are on their part. Firstly, the victim should try and make out whether he is attempting to assert his dominance or prove some irrelevant point. If the offender is less harmful then the choice of less lethal tools may be a good medium of attack. Improvisation of tools may be a good alternative if the victim is not carrying anything. One should not engage in a physical fight unless he/she is a professional in that, if not then the chances of getting hurt and losing the fight is the maximum.

One should remember that their most important weapon is their own intellect and senses. A person who has full control over his senses is always aware of what surrounds them. These situations arise spontaneously and so one must exercise his/her sense so as to stay aware and keep away from these circumstances. If there is no need of a fight, then there is no need to initiate one. The victim should have strong instincts to decide in these situations.

Many people decide to make early confrontation, but that may not be possible in all the cases. There are some people who come into negotiation with the offender, but that does not mean that the victim has accepted defeat. It is just that under certain situation it is smart to negotiate on terms based on the offender, but this too is limited till the time the offender decides to harm the victim physically. In that case, the victim finds no other alternative than to use self defense.
